New to hot yoga?
Your first class.
The heat is part of the practice: it teaches you to stay calm when things get hard, and it warms your muscles so your body opens further. Come early, bring water, and let the room take care of the rest. Here is everything you need to walk in ready.
Most first-timers worry about two things: the heat, and looking like a beginner. Neither one matters once you are in the room. Everyone in there started exactly where you are.
What to bring
Honestly, you can show up with nothing. We rent mats and towels at the studio, and there is free filtered water to fill your own bottle, or you can buy one here. If you have your own mat and towel, bring them, and wear light, breathable clothing you can move and sweat in.
Come well hydrated and skip a heavy meal beforehand. A light snack an hour or two before class is plenty to keep your energy up in the room.

What to expect
Class length varies depending on which one you choose, and some are heated while others are not. You can find the details for any class on the schedule. Rest whenever you need to. Sitting out a posture is a normal part of the practice, especially early on.

Arrival and etiquette
Arrive about 15 minutes early so you can check in, set up, and settle before class begins. Doors are locked once class starts, so give yourself time to park and check in. The studio is a quiet, phone-free space once you are in the room. Let the front desk know it is your first class and they will help you get oriented.
Parking
Sealevel is at 215 N 36th St in the heart of Fremont. There are several parking lots within a block of the studio, and street parking fills up fast at peak times. The front desk sells $3 per-visit parking passes, good for 2 hours at the nearby U-Park lot. Give yourself a few extra minutes to park.
Good to know
You can cancel a class booking any time up until it starts. No-shows are not refunded. The minimum age to practice is 16, and anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult.
